Nelson Mandela

Tonight the world lost one of the greatest humans beings to walk the earth. Tonight Former South African President  Nelson Mandela died. He is proof that one man can change the world. This man fought against the brutal apartheid regime. He decided to fight back in which got him sent to prison for life. However even from the inside he had influence. He influenced a majority black suppressed people to fight back and the Government knew it had to end and he held the key. On February the 11th 1990 Nelson Mandela was a free man once more, as he left prison after 27 years, this was the beginning of the end of apartheid. He knew him and his enemies worked together to repaid it's divided nation and in 1994 he became President of his country.
In 1995 he brought the country together by wearing a South African Rugby uniform, a sport played predominantly by whites and showed the world that with a simple gesture , you can have a ripple effect.
In 2008 there was a huge concert that took place in London to celebrate his 90th birthday, attended by hundred of thousands of people, young Brits who came out to see the likes of Will Smith and Leona Lewis sing to this man who changed the world, which showed his effect on many different generations.
I know this is a fashion and music blog but this man is one of my biggest inspirations. He was a man who fought for what he believed in and decided that enough was enough and that he was going to try and change it, he showed me that one person can change the world if you persevere. I am quite upset about this news as he was a light of the world and one of the greatest people this planet has ever seen. This is a sad day and we need to make sure that we never let future generations forget who he was and what he did. This man is a icon and legend and I will never forget him along with millions more, RIP Mr Mandel, you will be missed.
