VMA 2014: Fashion Review

Hey guys I know this blog has been dead for 2 months and I am so sorry, I am back now and ready for another batch of red carpet fashion, Here is my view on last nights carpet

Taylor Swift: The star has decided to go kinda sexy but I don't think this is too out there, I like this on her, her legs are long and slim and why should she not show them off, I think she looks really cute and fun

Kesha: OMG she has never looked better, she looks incredible in this gorgeous dress but she she still kept her fun self with her rainbow hair, it;s great to her looking good and healthy

J.Lo: She is 45 people 45! This is sexy OTT buy only JLO could pull this off, no one else should even try

Lucy Hale: for some reason I'm not into this look, I usually love her style but the outfit is too dark and the skirt is too long for her height

Kim West: I love her but this dress is too low for my liking, This Balmain dress is gorgeous but I wish it was pulled a bit more together

Kylie Jenner: A 17 year old should not be wearing a bin bag, this is ill fitting and so drab

Kendall Jenner: 1 word, Boring! This is so dull, she could pull off something so much more exciting 

Gwen Stefani: Her first VMA's in 9 years, she looks like the Gwen we know and love, I love this on her, it's fun but age appropriate, I love it

Sarah Hyland: I really like this, It's so 90's but I really like it, I love the color on her and the simple shoe is perfect

Beyonce: Bow Down Bitches!

Charlie XCX: I love this on her, it's fun wild and I love how she is having fun

Demi Lovato: She looks so sexy and hot here, unreal Demi, Unreal

Rita Ora, I love the dress but I hate the choker, I think it looks so cheap, no neckpiece would have been so much better

Iggy Azalea: I love the Versace on her, it's glam and out there but it fits her like a glove

 

Jordan Dunn looked sleek and sexy in this Balmain creation, I like it but I would have loved a pop pf color

Nina Dobrev: Usually I love her style but this looks really cheap but the shoes are stunning

Victoria Justice: I kinda like this combo, the skirt is a bit risky but I think it works and I love the hashtag bag!

Miley Cyrus: I think she looks edgy but still stylish, I really like this on her and she looks great here

Amber Rose, Rose McGowan did this in the 90's so It did not have the shock factor that I think she was hoping for, been done

Ariana Grande: I'mm not buying the sexy leather badass look, She has gone for cute to wannabe sexy so fast, this is too much, nope Arina

Nicki Minaj: I love this on her, animal prints ans sequins should not work but it does on her

Lavern Cox: The OITNB star looked fierce in this dress, fabulous

Grace of Monaco: Film Review

This week one of the most talked about films from the cannes film festivals was debuted to the public. Nicole Kidman takes on the role of the iconic Grace of Monaco. The film has received  it's fair share of criticism, and I can see why. The film lacks direction, any heart and a strong enough lead to take on the role of Grace Kelly.
The plot centers on Graces discomfort in Monaco and wondering if she should return to acting, in the middle of her own personal crisis, Monaco is on the brink of war with France after unrest and relationships are strained between Grace and Rainier.
The film has a number of problems. Firstly they cannot decide whether to focus of Graces upset or Monacos troubles with France, it's like they are two different movies. Nicole Kidman is also the wrong person for the part. Grace Kelly was so breathtaking, in my opinion the most beautiful actress of all time, and Nicole doe's not do her justice, I just don't buy her and the icon. I think someone like Charlize Theron or Cameron Diaz would have been a better fit. Also they did not have strong character direction, one minute Rainier is brute and bully and then he is kissing the ground she walks on, it's one extreme to another.
The whole film is a disaster and that  is a pity. This has all the ingredients to be a great film, especially for someone like me, History, glamour, Princess bio pic and it just fails across the board. Monaco is my favorite place on earth, and the film does not make you care for the beautiful state and it should. The house of Grimaldi were said not to be impressed and I cannot blame them, neither am I and many others like me.

Every May the good and the great of the film world come to Cannes for a week of glamour, movies and yachts. There have gracing been a array of stars gracing France for the 11 day festival and they have brought some serious glamour with them. Here is a recap of the best and worst from the the famous festival.

This is too high school prom queen, not Cannes, red carpet, I think this is too much and I think considering she is at the premiere of her film playing Grace Kelly, she should have tried a lot harder

Why the Santa Barbara Shooting is proof of Rape Culture

I know this blog is usually light hearted stuff and not that serious but after last Saturdays shooting in Santa Barbara, it has really made think. Elliot Rodgers shot 7 people and stabbed 3 in a horrific spree that has shook the world, but what is even more sinister is his video retribution in which he said he would kill "every blond slut that ever rejected him" and that it was unfair that at 22 he was still a Virgin and had never kissed a girl.
He was confused on why so many rejected him because he had money and a nice life and he basically said that woman should be with him because of his nice financial situation.
This is pure rape culture ideology. He felt entitled to woman because of his lifestyle and he felt that he should be getting all this attention from females and not other guys. He questioned why on earth woman we're not flocking to him.
The video is so disturbing and the scary thing is, he made more. He made this video the day of the shooting and hours later, 10 we're dead. I am not saying all guys feel like this, but as a woman, the fact that some guys have this ideology, scares the hell out of me.
Woman from a young age are being told, it's up to you not to get raped and attacked, but when it comes to guys, it's always "boys will be boys". This is disgusting and a poisonous thought. Some men feel that a womans body is their right, no it is a privilege.
If you want a womans body and love, You work for it. This guy went on a rampage because no one wanted to sleep with him. It is 2014, how is the happening.
I can't tell you how many times I get nervous in a club, it's just a thing I have, I always have to have my guard up, I am not saying I am the hottest thing in a club, but guy's go out on the pull all the time and some will not take no for an answer.
We need to stop making woman into sexual objects and let men know that, if we want you, go for it, but if we don't want you , NO means NO and that like Elliot Rodgers, a womans body is not a God Given Right.

Kimye Wedding

It has happened, Kim and Kanye are now man and wife. The two married in Florence yesterday in a lavish ceremony that has had the whole world talking. Would Bey and Jay show up, would they get to married in Versailles and most importantly, who will the Bride be wearing. All was answered yesterday. While there has been no photo sharing of the wedding gowns, we did get a peak thats to a pap shot, of the Wedding dress and from the looks of it, it was stunning.
While Versailles was a no go, the pair did get to hold their rehearsal dinner there and the pair and guest were sung to by none other than Lana Del Rey, (standard)!
The Bride wore Givenchy to the ceremony, no surprise really given the couples friendship with main Givenchy Designer Riccardo Tisci.
He was among the guests who included, Andre Leon Talley, Balmain head designer Olivier Rousteing, Rachel Roy, John Legend and Chrissy Teigen and of course the Kardashian/ Jenner clan.
Noticeably absent was Beyonce and Jay Z and her the brides brother, Rob was left paris to head back to L.A after apparently getting Fed Up with all the excess of the occasion.

The first look at the Dress

The pair have been criticised since day one. Whether they are being called Tacky, Greedy  or obnoxious, not a day goes by that the haters don't give their opinion. Was it over the Top, Yes, is $400,000 on flowers crazy, Yes, did I expect this from them,  Yes, of course. These two like extravagnce, and the finer things in life. Let them be, it is their money, their taste and their choice, leave them be. Money is no object for these two and if they want to splash out for their big day, let them. Plenty of celebs have spent around the same on their wedding, but it's just not as talked about because they are not Kimye. Do you think David and Victoria penny pinched on their big day, or Donald Trump had an uber low key affair, hell no, they all went OTT on their big day and why not, I would.
Kimye are not said to be off on their honeymoon and apparently they are only a while away from me, because they have landed in Cork, that's right, they chose Ireland as their destination. Whether the weather is good to them or not is another story, but one thing is for sure. They will get peace here. The biggest stars in the world from Micheal Jackson, Brad Pitt and SJP have all holidayed here and they are left alone. Kimye have been bombarded by the press from day one, of course they want a chilled honeymoon away from paparazzi, they will get here. We just let people be here, I don't know why but we leave celebs alone and if they are here I hope they are having and ultra fabulous time.
