Britney Spears : Britney Jean : Album Review

My Queen is back with new music and I am beyond excited. Just to give you a little backround on my love for Ms Spears. I have followed this woman's career since I first saw the Baby One More Time music video came out. I was 4 when she came onto the scene and i have been here ever since. although she had a abit of a rough ride for a few years she managed to come back with 3 killer albums anx show she is still a force to be reckoned with in the music business. This is her 4th album since her comeback and it has a strong EDM feel and here's my review track by track!

Alien- The album opens up with this mid tempo track and spears sings how there were times she felt a little lost in this world. I thought she was very brave to be so honest on her opening track and I think it sets a strong tone for the rest of the album.

Work Bitch- Spears does a complete 180 with her next track. This was her first single off her album and it is one of my songs of 2013. The lyrics are full of attitude and the beat is one of the best dance beats I have heard in a pop song in a long time. This is the Britney we know and love and the song is one of the best on the album.

Perfume- Spears shows more vulnerability on this song, talking about the paranoia of wondering if her partner is still hooked on an ex. This is the 2nd single single off the album and it's one of the strongest vocal performances we see on the album.

It Should Be Easy- Spears teams up with Will.i.am again and you can see his infuluence from the start. there is a lot of auto tune and it has the strongest EDM influence on the album which is not a bad thing. the beat is incredible and it is the sort of song you can really move to in the club. One of my favorites.

Tik Tik Boom- A more raunchy offering from the superstar, this strikes me more of a filler although T.I is a nice surprise to the song.

Body Ache- This is very EDM and had a very cool beat after the chores. There is not too many lyrics and it's more of the beat but that worked for Work Bitch and it works here. Really love this song

Till It's Gone- The verses remind me of old Britney but the bridge is pure modern EDM which really works. This would be a huge hit in the clubs and I think this would be an amazing track to see Live. This is definitely one of the strongest tracks on the album.

Passenger- The intro music is a bit weird for my taste and the shores and verses are so different that it doesn't really work. This is probably one of my least favorite tracks on the album.

Chillin' With You- Spears has brought in her little sister Jamie Lynn for this quite odd song. I think this song is just on the album because it's a duet with her sister. This song doesn't fit with the songs on the album. I must add too that Jamie Lynn has a very good voice and it's nice to hear the two sisters rong together, I just wish they chose a better song.

Don't Cry- Britney bares her feelings in this heartfelt song. She shows her vulnerability  and is very open about her heartbreak, which could be said to be about her failed engagement . Although this is not one of my favorites I think there should be at least one ballad on an album and this is it.

Overall: This album is what Britney promised us. It's very open and filled with some strong EDM influences. I think this album is some of her best work. She has moved on with the times and she has struck a good balance of club tracks and sweet ballads to listen to while relaxing. This woman is back on top and this album shows how her voice can adapt to the new style of music dominating the charts. This woman is a living legend and I am so glad she is back to what she does best.

One Direction Midnight Memories Music Review

The biggest boyband on the planet are back with their new album. That's right the 1D boys are back with their third album Midnight Memories and the sound is classic 1D.

Best Song Ever: This song was a huge hit for the boys and their video was a worldwide phenomenon. I loved this song and thought it was really upbeat and it's definitely one of the best songs on the album.

Story of my Life: Their new single is a sweet ballad and has alot of simple guitar strums and it's a really sweet song. I sometimes think boyband ballads are drab but this has a different sound and the video is so sweet.

Diana: This song went a bit over my head, I thought sounded like The Police at times. I think this is a bit of filler in all honesty

Midnight Memories: This has a more rock sound. It's pure 1D, big chores that will fill an arena full on teenage girls. It will be perfect for their stadium tour but I feel like we've heard this sound from the boys so many times before

You & I: The first really slow song on the album. This was a bit of a snooze fest for me, it is the quintessential boy band ballad of telling the girl they are in love with the girl, it's just a boring song

Don't Forget Where I Belong: The boys sing about their new life and their rise to superstardom and how it's important to stay who you are before the money and the fame. It's nice to hear them be so honest and it's a interesting insight into the boys thoughts.

Strong: I liked this song alot. I thought it had strong riffs and drum beats and the music really shows off the boys voices. It is a bit rocky but it really suits their voices

Happily: This sounds a bit like if Mumford and Sons were happy! It's a bit more folky and has a strong use of instruments, it's such a upbeat, sunny song, definitely one of my favorites.

Right Now: This song is a bit dull and forgetful, I would give this one a bit of a miss

Little Black Dress: This sounds like something the Stones would sing. I has an old school and Harry reminds me of Jagger in this track, definitely one of their strongest and it would be great to see it performed Live

Through The Dark: This has a real Mumford and Sons feel. It is real fast guitar sounds and has a real sing song feel. It's nice to hear something different from the boys and it's refreshing to hear them tackle new sounds.

Something Great: This is a bit underwhelming again the boys usual sound just not as strong as other songs

Little White Lies: This has their sound with a bit of added dubstep and it really works. I really like this but it's not the strongest but it's nice to see them inject EDM

Better Than Words: This is the last song on the standard edition. It is a bit of a dull way to end such an eagerly anticipated album. I thought it was a bit dull but 1D fans will love it.

Overall: Honestly this album is the same old stuff just newer songs. I myself am not a huge fan of 1D's music but I do like them as a band. I like how they experimented with some new sounds but they made sure not to stray away from their typical sound. These song is definitely suited to the Stadium tour, songs like Midnight Memories and Best Song Ever will invoke a huge response when performed live. They boys know what their fans want to hear and will not mess with the winning formula. I think they gave their fans a good album and I think critics will be silenced as well. I can't see the 1D gravy train ending anytime soon and this album will make sure the boys are around for another year at least.

Best Song: Happily

American Music Awards: Fashion Review

Last Night the American music Awards took place and some of musics biggest names graced the red carpet fof the big event, some ladies brought their A game while some had an epic fashion fail

Spotted stunner: Katy Perry looked very traditional in a strapless black and white Oscar De La Renta spotted gown decorated with flowers at the American Music Awards in Los Angeles on Sunday night
Katy Perry wore a polka dot ball gown style gown. I am not a fan of this look I think it clashed too much but I love her book style clutch.

Suited up: Miely Cyrus sported an open neck white blazer and cropped Versus Versace trousers teamed with black heels
Miley Cyrus actually looked really stylish last night. I love the tailored tuxedo look and I think she looks great here. The simple nod to monochrome is also really stylish

Going for gold: Taylor Swift showed off her slim figure in the ultra short glittering metallic dress and matching strappy heels
Taylor Swift wore a gold sparkling mini and although I usually love this type of look i hate the gap of not materiel in the middle, it looks unfinished

A wonder in white : Kendall Jenner showed her modelling skills in a skimpy ensemble teamed with nude heels and a chunky silver necklace
Kendall Jenner looked Amazing last night. The cut out, the skort. statement jewelry this look is perfect, obsessed with this look!

Sparkling star: Ariana Grande looked pretty as a picture in her sequinned red gown
Ariana Grande brought out her inner Jessica Rabbit in this jaw dropping red sequin gown. I think she looks amazing in this dress but kept to her usual hairstyle and make up, Love this

Old Hollywood: Christina wore her hair in Old Hollywood style curls and dazzled with sparkling accessories
Christina Aguliera OMG. She looks phenomenal. The white satin dress complements her big blond hair and the silver accessorizes top off the look perfectly.

Channelling someone we know? Glee star Naya Rivera resembled Kim Kardashian in her keyhole black dress with gold bracelets
Naya Rivera brought the Sex Appeal in a low cut high neck black gown. I like how she kept her hair down and kept it fun. she has been looking amazing lately.

Save all your kisses for me: Dressed in head-to-toe Versace, Gaga made sure she showed her appreciation to her 'Little Monsters'
Lady Gaga wore a lilac creation and I really like this look, she looks kinda normal. The one think I will say is that her boobs look to tight and uncomfortable

Very different looks: Kendall Jenner went all-out glam while sister Kylie looked more casual in her ensemble
Kylie Jenner wore a monochrome top and pants combo but looked a bit dull considering her style record and I hate the bangs, they are far too severe.

Emma Roberts, 22, is Hollywood royalty so there was no excuse for her to show up in a dress made of what looked like tinfoil
Emma Roberts looked a metallic mess in a shapeless Lanvin gown with hot pink accessories

Fashionista: Nicole teamed her gown with a chunky gold necklace and a House of Harlow 1960 clutch
Nicole Richie showed off her tiny frame in a white cut out dress. I like how she kept it simple and and added chunky accessories
Intricate design: Ciara's striking dress featured nude netted panels perfectly designed to cover her modesty
Ciara showed off as much as she could without having a peek a boo moment. I think this is a bit trashy and she needs to up her game.

Two toned: Ke$ha looked slightly more demure than usual in a one shouldered dress with ruffle detail at the hip and pink and blue streaks in her hair
Kesha took thigh high  to another level in her black gown. I really like this on her but I wish she added more volume to her hair.

Light touch: Actress Zandaya wore a draped white dress
Zendaya wore an all white ensemble which I thought looked kinda cool and different without being weird and I love the length of her hair

Heavy metal: Kelly looked very futuristic with her purple hair and silver flared long sleeved gown
Kelly Osbourne wore a ball gown style silver dress to the awards and i thought she looked really good and kept to her style and true to herself.

Going for gold: Jordin Sparks was among the early arrivals at the American Music Awards in Los Angeles on Sunday night in a beaded gold and black gown split to the thigh
Jordan Sparks looked elegant in a gold and black studded gown. I love the detail on this gown and the shoes are amazing

Classy and colourful: Jennifer Hudson showed off her slender figure in the orange and bright pink 'mullet' dress
Jennifer Hudson had a serious color pop moment. I love the these two colors together and I think she is really rocking the short hair.

Dream in tangerine: Glee star Jenna Ushkowitz was among the early arrivals in a plunging orange gown teamed with gold necklace
Jenna Ushkowitz looked great in a plunging orange gown teamed with a statement gold necklace

Sexiest Men Alive

This week Maroon 5 frontman and serious hottie Adam Levine was named People's Sexiest Man Alive. Although I see the appeal, he would not be my sexiest man alive but I can see why he was voted, there is a difference between hot and sexy, you can be a serious looked but Sexy has a an edge to it, Adam has a an that sexy rockstar vibe but you know he's more likely to do yoga than heroin, that is appealing!, Anyway I complied my own list right here and trust me I gave this a lot of serious thought, enjoy!

5 Joseph Gordon Levitt

This guy is such a cutie, I loved him in 3rd rock from the sun and he is adorable in 500 days of summer. he showed us he can do dark and sexy in Inception and that is why he is on this list, he's geek chic hot, very sexy!

4: Zac Efron
This guy has a had a serious transformation, I had a serious crush on him when he burst onto the scene in High school musical when I was 14 and the love has grown. He is so grown it should be illegal, seriously what a babe!

3: Franco Brothers
These guys are equally gorgeous, James roles is a bit darker and serious while Dave is a bit more goofy and fun. They can both act and look gorgeous. I love both of them for their epic talents and amazing features and thank You to Mr & Ms Franco!

2: Chris Hemsworth
When I get asked who was my childhood crush I always say this guy and people look at me funny because Thor only came out 2 years ago, however he was in Home and Away when I was around 10/11 and he hasnt changed, he is still the hottie he was back then, just without the side fringe. I like to think i had good taste even back then, this man is as sexy as they come and I am very happy he is a global superstar as that means more time on movie screens

1: Matthew Grey Gubler
This is the guy I adore, He's tall, got great hair and amazing cheek bones, the Criminal Minds star is perfection in my eyes, he may not be everyone's first choice but I think he utterly gorgeous. He also seems really goofy and funny and doesn't seem to take himself to seriously, he is also brilliant as the great Spencer Reid in my all time favorite show, he's to you Mr Gubler

I take Selfies Sue Me!

It is official, selfies have taken over the world. The word was named the most popular word of 2013 and was added to the Oxford Dictionary only a matter of weeks ago. The official meaning of the world is a self portrait taken by the subject, and if anyone knows a thing or two about selfies it is me. I love a good selfie and have no problem admitting it. If I think I look nice I take a photo, if I'm waiting in the car, bored at home or not really focusing in lectures snap, new photo for my instagram account. Basically I am vain and like to take photos of myself, does that make me a bad person, no, God forbid the psychologists of the world get a hold of me and tell me they think  that I have major low self esteem and that I need other peoples validation to make myself feel good, that all of a sudden a few likes on facebook is going to make me really constant and happy with myself, sorry people but you are sorely mistaken! I am perfectly fine if I post a selfie on Instagram and it doesn't get any likes, but it is nice when you get that little orange notification that someone likes your photo but I do not go around depressed if that photo is not popular with other users. The likes of Cara Delevigne and Kim Kardashian  have pushed selfie taking into overdrive but looking through my familys old photo albums it is clear that I was taking selfies since before Kim K was famous. I always liked taking photos of myself, although these photos are of myself as a 10 year old with messy hair and my tongue sticking

The likes of Cara Delevigne and Kim Kardashian  have pushed selfie taking into overdrive but looking through my familys old photo albums it is clear that I was taking selfies since before Kim K was famous. I always liked taking photos of myself, although these photos are of myself as a 10 year old with messy hair and my tongue sticking out. People argue that teenages are going to garner low self esteem if their selfies does not get that many likes on facebook, Newsflash, teenagers are going to have low self esteem, it is that time in your life where the fact that there is always someone prettier, smarter and thinner is most prevalent, you are not going to be brimming with confidence and unless you are Kendall and Kylie Jenner, you are not going to be 100% about your looks. When I was a teenager selfies were not the trend  they are now, I was not a looker as a teen either, I had glasses, braces, was chubby, basically I was no Kylie Jenner at 16, thats for damn sure, however I still took the odd selfie if I was board or goofing around. I would put it on bebo or facebook and would not get depressed if it wasn't commented on or had a huge amount of likes, why, because unlike the psychologists of worlds theory, I was not obsessed with peer validation

We like celebrity selfies because they are candid shots into these superstars lives, they are not on a red carpet or a still from a movie or a photo shoot they are these superstars pulling funny faces or doing the duck face, yes people give out about the duck face but it happens so build a bridge and get over it.
People of the world do not be shamed into hiding your selfie taking habit, it is fine, I think it shows confidence, your telling the world I think I look good today and don't let any ragging know it all tell you otherwise, they're probably just jealous that a instagram filter doesn't make them look like God's Gift!
