Breakout Style Stars 2013: Naomi Harris

This year if there was an award for best newcomer when it comes to style, Naomi Harris would be a strong contender. The Bond Girl graced the red carpet with top looks week after week and with her starring role in Mandela A Long Walk to Freedom, the star showed her high fashion looks on the red carpet for days on end and made us all jealous of her ability to look good in almost anything, heres  a look at some of her best looks of 2013.

Vanity Fair Oscar Party: This pale colored dress looked amazing on the actress against her stunning skin tone and the hair and make up is divine.

Met Gala: This Donna Karen creation is down right stunning and I love the colors of the feathers at the tail of the dress, her hair is also classy and choc and her jewels are top notch

Governors Awards:  This stunning white Burberry  dress is amazing. The detail is exquisite and the low back is a stunning touch and I love how her hair and makeup is simple yet chic

Oxfam Gala: This Monique Lhullier is stunning and classy. The pink tone really complements her skin tone and the lace detail is so pretty and the box clutch tops off the perfect look

Mandela Premiere: This 1920's style look suits the actress down to the ground, I love the sheer Paneling and the fabric of the dress looks amazing

Oscars: This caramel colored dress had amazing detail on the bodice and the way her hair sweeps on her face really tops off the look but that slit, Wow, I love a good fashion risk and that one payed off

Mandela Premiere: This is my favorite look from the actress, the gold detail on the hips is stunning and I love the simplicity of the whole look, the woman certainly can dress

2013 Breakout Style Stars: Jennifer Lawrence

If 2013 was about one woman it was J-Law, She released her second film in a multi million dollar film franchise, she won an Oscar, Golden Globe and just about every other award out there and she was the Queen of Gifs! However she also made fashionistas fall in love with her amazing style. The woman is usually head to toe Dior and manages to do classy and choc without dating herself, lets not forget shes only 23! Here a look at some of her best fashion moments of 2013

Vanity Fair Oscar Party: This is one of my favorite looks of hers this year. I thought this Calvin Klein dress was unusual but still sexy and age appropriate and I love how she went for metallics

Golden Globe: This Dior dress was a bold choice for the actress, however she was only 22 at the time and I love how she went for a daring color that was young and fun. Also I love how it shows off her amazing figure

 .
SAG Awards: This navy dress was glamorous and chic and I love the Red Lip and flowing brown hair. I also like how she kept it simple with minimal jewellery and how she let the dress do the talking

Met Gala: This Dior Prom dress wowed at the Ball this year when most people looked downright crazy. I love the vintage feel of the dress and the facenet is so fabulously retro

Oscars: The night that the whole world went WOW! I loved this look, she know this was a night to go big or go home and she brought the fabulous, this is not just a dress, this is a gown and I love how she went for the ballgown style dress again but this time she kept it more simple, and she looked every bit as stunning

Cannes Film Festival: This monochrome Dior dress was unusual but J-Law pulled it off, she kept on trend and chic while still being young with her hair down and the red lip

Hunger Games Premiere: This simple navy dress is really sleek but I love how went for a dress with sheer as it showed off those amazing shoes but she made sure that was the eye catching detail of the dress, wearing no bling at all.

Baftas: This Dior dress was another smart choice from the actress, I love the detail on the dress and how her hair is slicked back and shows us her stunning face

Hunger Games Premiere: This Dior creation turned heads in London with it's detailed bottom, its low back and its pure white satin fabric, this dress made her look like the superstar she is.

Kardashian Kollection Review

The Kardashians hit Lipsy in a big way in October of this year but they are back with their second range for the store and it is standard Kardashian Kollection. There are more prints this season but they haven't strayed very far from their standard designs, here's a look of their latest collection

Dress to impress: The 14-piece range is packed with spider web lace and shapes such as the midi length bodycons to reflect the Kardashians love for figure hugging silhouettes (L) lace dress, £75, (C) peach dress, £75, (R) black dress, £75
Dresses with high neck detail are very on trend but for me I don't think the colors work that well together but I do like the length and the blush pink, I just think it would have worked better in a white or blue. This costs €90

Revealed: The full campaign shots of the sisters modelling the range will be unveiled later this week (L) floral black dress, £60, (C) colourful floral dress, £58, (R) peach bodycon, £60
I really like this blush bodycon dress, I think the detail at the bottom of the dress and I love the detail on the shoulders, This cost €72

This bodycon floral dress is one of my favorite pieces from the collection, however I think it would be suited more in a summer collection. I love the length and print and how it cinches in at the waist to flatter most womans shape and I think it would be perfect for spring/summer. Price €82

Racy lace: Separates include wardrobe staples from wrap front sheer blouses and ladylike pencil skirts (L) sheer top, £30, (C) peach blouse, £38, (R) black pencil skirt, £38
This leather pencil skirt will travel into spring and hopefully summer and will go with most things in your wardrobe and is priced at a reasonable €45

Racy lace: Separates include wardrobe staples from wrap front sheer blouses and ladylike pencil skirts (L) sheer top, £30, (C) peach blouse, £38, (R) black pencil skirt, £38
This blush pink blouse is perfect for Spring and summer and will go with many colors from black to white to other pastels. I think it is very smart while casual and you can pick it up for €45

Revealed: The full campaign shots of the sisters modelling the range will be unveiled later this week (L) floral black dress, £60, (C) colourful floral dress, £58, (R) peach bodycon, £60
This shift dress is a bit drab and dull. I don't like the obvious white lining  and I think for €72 it is over priced for something that is not even that nice.

Revealed: The full campaign shots of the sisters modelling the range will be unveiled later this week (L) floral black dress, £60, (C) colourful floral dress, £58, (R) peach bodycon, £60
Although I think this is a nice dress and I like the pattern on it I think the material is too cheap looking for the price they are asking, It is not worth €70 and I think they need to have a hard look at what they are charging

Overall: Ever since the sister started business with Lipsy I lost a lot of interest. I myself think Lipsy is overpriced at can be tacky at times. When I saw their first Lipsy collection I was underwhelmed as their previous efforts with Dorothy Perkins we're really cool and fun clothing that I always bought. My reaction to this collection is no different. I think it is the same items just recycled, it feels a little lazy to me. I think the collection is is also overpriced. In general Lipsy is overpriced but for the material and quality most of the products are not worth the money. Granted there are a few items I would like, such as the blush pink bodycon dress and the midi skirt, but other than that this is the first collection by the sisters that I really do not care for at it is a real shame

Breakout Style Stars of 2013: Allison Williams

Hi everyone, this year I started this blog and have had a lot of fun writing about what I think of people and their style as well as music. However if you read my blog a lot you know I love commenting on outfits.
This Year I have seen some new faces on the red carpet hitting massive fashion notes. Over the next few days I am going to tell you why I am  loving these new style stars Style and this first post is about "Girls" star Allison Williams.
I only recently got into "Girls" but over the past year I have seen this 24 year olds beautiful face splashed across gossip and fashion sites, mainly because she knows how to dress herself.  She has a young but classic style and her hair, Amazing!
Here is a look on some of her major fashion moments!

Emmy Awards: Out of all  her co stars she was the only one who got it right. This Ralph Lauren gown is so simple but so perfect. The waves are amazing and the simple bagels shows us that she knows a simple dress can do all the talking!

Grammy Awards: This embellished dress has some of the best detail I have seen in a long time. She looks young, fresh but elegant at the same time, which is hard to do, ( Taylor Swift take note).

Golden Globes: The plunging J Mendel was the moment when I took notices and said "Who is She" The confidence she has wearing this dress is amazing and the way she rocks this daring look without looking cheap is admirable. She looked unreal and gave us a taste into what we would see on the next  red carpet.

Winter Ball for Autism: This De La Renta dress, is something that only few can pull off. I mean the full skirt, the lace detail and the low back, this is one of my looks of the entire year, Perfection is not even the word.

Girls Season 2 Party: This black and gold dress is so fitting for the event, it's not to dressy but still brings the glamour. I love the top of the dress detail and the simple shoes and hair top it all off

VMA Awards: This Valentino Mini was such a relief after seeing so much skin in the red carpet. I love the detail and how she kept her hair back so not to distract from the fabulous embroidery.

Met Gala: This Altuzarra dress was so daring and fitted so well with the Punk Theme. I love how she is owning her look and the sheer and lace detail is stunning

CNN Hero Awards: Who looks this good in Purple Leather, I love how the look is so daring but it's a got such a ladylike length, it really pulls the look into a sophisticated direction.

Vogue Party: The look is so crisp and simple but til so glam, I love the detail on the shoes and the mesh in the skirt is a fun touch

Vanity Fair Oscar Party: This simple white dress is so elegant and pretty I also love the nude clutch. the stunning jewels and hair and make up pull the look together nicely and this look is definitely Oscar Worthy

Joe Jonas Artical

Earlier this week Joe Jonas gave an interview and blew the medias perceptions of him wide open. He said how he lost his virginity at 20 even though the band were famous for the purity rings. How He first did drugs at 17 thanks to Miley and Demi and that he felt Disney was far to controlling.
The piece is one of the most refreshing pieces of writing I have read in a long time. These boys were the epitome of squeaky clean, that was part of the appeal, now with this new revelation it just goes to show how good some marketing can be. I don't for one second believe him and his brothers were doing the whole drugs sex and rock n roll but her even said in the piece, "I took advantage of the opportunities handed to me" he wrote when came to girls throwing himself at him which I applaud him for being so open about, any red blooded man is going to give into temptation at some point, it's human nature. I also think it was a very brave move to be so openly critical about Disney, one of the biggest corporations in the world. He said how he hated their sitcom "JONAS" which was pure slapstick comedy but aimed at a very young age.
If I was to say anything about this article is that I would not have mentioned Demi and Mileys encouraging him to do drugs. I just think he knows that they are so well known it opens a can of worms about what they did behind the scenes when they tried to keep it private back the.
He was also very vocal about how he wanted to tell the world Demi is sick but couldn't because he had a brand to protect. He wrote "I got to see her struggling with like drug abuse." we all know Demi had issues and I think she is so brave for being so open but I never heard her admit she had a drug problem.
I love Joe and the boys and applaud him for his brutal honesty. He wants to tell the world, I am a 24 year old artist, not a Disney byproduct, The way he describes in the article, Disney seem to have more or a grip on their acts then we thought. I can see a bit more why Miley acts the way she is. Disney makes their kids be the very good kids, being bold and being so open abut being a badass is different and rebeling against they restrignt they seemed to face for so long.
I think people need to lay off him and say well done, how many other stars are so vocal?

Nelson Mandela

Tonight the world lost one of the greatest humans beings to walk the earth. Tonight Former South African President  Nelson Mandela died. He is proof that one man can change the world. This man fought against the brutal apartheid regime. He decided to fight back in which got him sent to prison for life. However even from the inside he had influence. He influenced a majority black suppressed people to fight back and the Government knew it had to end and he held the key. On February the 11th 1990 Nelson Mandela was a free man once more, as he left prison after 27 years, this was the beginning of the end of apartheid. He knew him and his enemies worked together to repaid it's divided nation and in 1994 he became President of his country.
In 1995 he brought the country together by wearing a South African Rugby uniform, a sport played predominantly by whites and showed the world that with a simple gesture , you can have a ripple effect.
In 2008 there was a huge concert that took place in London to celebrate his 90th birthday, attended by hundred of thousands of people, young Brits who came out to see the likes of Will Smith and Leona Lewis sing to this man who changed the world, which showed his effect on many different generations.
I know this is a fashion and music blog but this man is one of my biggest inspirations. He was a man who fought for what he believed in and decided that enough was enough and that he was going to try and change it, he showed me that one person can change the world if you persevere. I am quite upset about this news as he was a light of the world and one of the greatest people this planet has ever seen. This is a sad day and we need to make sure that we never let future generations forget who he was and what he did. This man is a icon and legend and I will never forget him along with millions more, RIP Mr Mandel, you will be missed.

New Buys

Hi guys, in the past 2 weeks i have really treated myself clothing wise. I haven't really bought any news clothes in a while and decided to get a few pieces to reward myself for being a hard working student (seriously you would not believe the amount of college work I have, it's insane). Anywho heres what I have picked up over the past few days.

I bought this yesterday in Urban Outfitters as they had 20% of EVERYTHING. It was down to €19 already and with the extra discount I got it for €14.60

I also got this in UO yesterday, it was already down to €25 and I got it down to €20.60. I love getting loose black tops that go with everything and the crochet detail at the back adds something extra.

Displaying photo.JPG
I got this lace and fringed black top in Pennys 2 weeks ago along with this black and gold statement necklace. The top was €15 and the necklace was €5. I love the details on this top and it goes so well with the necklace.

I bought this halterneck shift dress off Missguided for €34.00 and I can't wait to wear it. I think Missguided is great as you get dresses for such a good price and they look so nice. I plan to wear this with my statement necklace from Pennys that I showed above and black pumps.
